About us

Hummingbird Drama Productions Ltd, a not-for-profit company, aims to research, explore and share community/individual's stories, challenge audience's preconceived perceptions of others, create empathic human connections, empower people and install confidence using drama methods and theatre practice.

Helen Clifford

Helen, Director of Hummingbird, has professional performer experience in TV, film and theatre. She continued to develop her industry knowledge and experience by completing a Theatre Practice HND and BA Drama Degree, and working as an Assistant Director at the Royal and Derngate, on productions of The Crucible, directed by Fay Lomas, Club Wonderland, Brainstorm and A Midsummer Night’s Dream directed by Erica Martin.

In 2019, Helen collaborated with writer Helen Coope and Warts and All Theatre for an Arts Council England funded project, The Parent Project, developing a script that explores the honest reality of parenthood and post-natal depression.

Helen is currently working as an actor, a private acting tutor, producing an up and coming production, the Greyfriars Island Project and continuing to develop her craft including her new found love of clowning!
